Our Credentials and Our Tools
Bersch Consulting Ltd. is equipped, trained and competent in sampling/assessing building materials and air quality services.
Asbestos: In-house Labs and Long Term Partnerships
We provide bulk sample analysis of suspect asbestos containing materials (ACM) to a detection limit of <1% of asbestos content. We use the USEPA 600/R-93/116 Method for determination of asbestos in building materials using PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy) and dispersion staining techniques.
Local Lab: Quick Turnaround
Our local lab provides our clients with the service of rush sample analysis in less than six hours in the event of an emergency. Otherwise, our regular turnaround time is 48 hours.
When required, Bersch Consulting Ltd. also uses the services of a NVLAP accredited laboratory to confirm analytical results for clients requiring NVLAP accreditation. We have maintained a strong working relationship with a NVLAP accredited laboratory for over 20 years. They are one of the highest rated labs in the USA and have always provided exceptional service.
Sample Drop Off
We also have a sample box behind our office. Customers can drop by anytime with their sample in a ziploc freezer bag to test for asbestos or lead.
We ask that the following information be included with the sample:
Company (if applicable)
Contact name
Email
Phone number
Project location
Where the sample was taken
Sample material
Sampling date
Turnaround time
Air Quality: In-house Labs and Expertise
Bersch Consulting Ltd. provides air monitoring as per the NIOSH 7400 Method of air sample analysis, which is the acceptable standard in the Province of Saskatchewan. We have three complete sets of laboratory equipment including capable of providing this service with quick turnaround time.
Mold, Lead and PCB Consulting
For laboratory analysis of building materials with respect to Mold, Lead, and PCBs, samples are sent to a NVLAP accredited laboratory for analysis with Bersch Consulting providing the interpretation of results.
To identify airborne mold spores, we use the Air-O-Cell cassette method of air sampling. Upon request, bulk fungal analysis using the culturable method is also available (which requires an incubation period).
We use the PCB identifier code to identify PCBs in light ballasts. To test PCBs in paint, we collect a physical sample and send it to a NVLAP accredited laboratory for analysis.
